The field is plain, with no exergue line, lending the design an archaic, emblematic character consistent with the historicist aesthetic of Israel's first coinage series.

Další informace	These coins were struck for Israel's first circulation issue, produced before the state had established its own mint — manufacturing was contracted to the Imperial Coin & Medal Co. in Birmingham. The series launched amid active war, with Israeli independence declared in May 1948 and the Arab-Israeli War ongoing throughout the entire production window. The aluminum-magnesium alloy was a deliberate economic choice for a government with no monetary reserves and an immediate need for functional coinage. KM#8 is known with two date varieties corresponding to the Jewish years 5708 and 5709.
