The face is dominated by a grid of twenty-five squares in magenta red arranged in a five-by-five pattern, over which a large triangle bearing the numeral '25' is superimposed. The design reflects the abstract geometric style characteristic of the Dutch Modernist banknote series commissioned by De Nederlandsche Bank.
