| 表面の説明 | A large, naturalistically rendered Cedar of Lebanon occupies the central field, its sweeping branches extending nearly to the inner circle. The tree, the national symbol of Lebanon, stands on a ground line above a rectangular cartouche bearing the Arabic legend, flanked by the date in Western numerals at left and Eastern-Arabic numerals at right. Below the cartouche, the French legend REPUBLIQUE LIBANAISE is inscribed in two lines within a curved banner. The whole design is enclosed by a beaded inner border with a plain outer rim. |

Lebanon's earliest coinage was issued under the French Mandate authority, with the État du Grand Liban framework established in 1920 giving Paris nominal justification to administer the currency. Essai pieces from 1929 were struck at the Paris Mint as presentation or trial strikes ahead of confirmed circulation issues — standard French Mandate practice for new or revised denominations. Very few were produced, intended for official review rather than commerce.
The Lec#34 reference places this firmly within Leconte's catalog of French colonial and mandate essais, a series notorious for thin documentation and disputed survivor populations.
