| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a stylized goat rendered in a traditional Chinese folk-art idiom, depicted in profile standing amid decorative scrolling cloud and floral motifs that fill the entire field. The Chinese cyclical year characters 癸未 (Guǐ Wèi, denoting the Year of the Goat) appear in the upper portion of the field above the animal. The denomination '$25' is prominently inscribed in the lower central field, with the legend '5 TROY OZ 999 FINE SILVER' arcing along the lower exergual border, confirming the coin's silver content and weight. An artist's signature is visible in the lower right area of the field. The overall composition reflects the aesthetic tradition of Singapore's Lunar New Year commemorative series. |

Singapore's lunar series has been issued continuously since 1967, making it one of the longest-running national lunar programs in the world. The 2003 Goat issue falls within the series' mature period, when the Mint had shifted toward larger, higher-relief strikes aimed squarely at the collector market rather than any pretense of circulation.
The five-ounce format was introduced to compete directly with Australian and Chinese lunar bullion programs that had eroded Singapore's regional collector base through the late 1990s.
