Obverse description	Printed in black, red, and green, the obverse centres on a vignette of Mount Kinabalu, below which the denomination and promissory text appear in English. Corner numerals in Chinese and Jawi script occupy the upper left and right panels, lending the note its characteristic multilingual character.
Obverse lettering	The Treasury SANDAKAN THE BRITISH NORTH BORNEO COMPANY Promise to pay the Bearer 25 the sum of TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS on demand 25 TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS for the Company
Reverse description	Printed entirely in red-brown on plain paper, the reverse is dominated by an elaborate symmetrical guilloche medallion at centre bearing the large numeral '25', flanked by intricate foliate and scroll-work panels with floral rosette cornerpieces; the issuer's name arcs above and below the central medallion.
