This 2022 issue pairs the revival with Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee, marking seventy years on the throne, a reign that outlasted twelve Australian prime ministers and saw the Perth Mint transition from a Royal Mint branch to a Western Australian government enterprise. The platinum flash over a gold flan is a production choice driven by the jubilee theme rather than any monetary or metallurgical necessity.
