Reverse description A dramatic close-up portrait of the Czech heraldic lion dominates the reverse field, depicted in high relief with finely textured fur and an open, snarling maw. The lion wears a stylized royal crown at the upper portion of the design, and a partial view of its raised double-tailed hindquarters is visible to the right, evoking the traditional Czech coat of arms. A bold diagonal stripe bisects the lower-left quadrant of the field, bearing the inscription ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA in two lines within that panel. The Czech Mint mintmark appears in the lower-left field, and the fineness and weight designation 1/2 oz Au 999.9 is inscribed along the lower-right arc.

Additional information

The Czech Lion bullion series, struck at the Czech Mint in Jablonec nad Nisou, has built a following since its silver incarnation launched in 2017 — the gold iterations occupy the upper tier of what has become one of Central Europe's more commercially successful modern bullion programs. Niue's role here is purely nominal; the Cook Islands and Niue arrangement with private mints for legal-tender bullion is a well-worn licensing structure with no meaningful monetary connection to the issuing territory.

The Czech Mint's .9999 fineness specification places this above the traditional .9999 threshold only in marketing terms — a distinction without practical difference for the half-troy-ounce format.
