| Obverse description | The quartered arms of Andorra occupy the centre of the obverse, surmounted by an episcopal mitre-crown. The shield displays the traditional four quarters: the mitre and crosier of the Bishop of Urgell (upper left), the vertical pales of Aragon (upper right), the horizontal bars of Foix (lower left), and two bulls passant representing the Viscounts of Beam (lower right). The denomination '25 D.' flanks the shield at lower left and right respectively, with the word 'EURO' inscribed below. The circular legend reads 'JOAN . D.M . BISBE . D'URGELL . I . PRINCEP . D'ANDORRA' around the upper periphery, with the date '1997' at the base. |
