Additional information

Kenya's 25-cent piece entered circulation while the country was still finding its footing with the East African Currency Board's dissolution in 1966, which had previously unified monetary policy across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. The Central Bank of Kenya had only begun issuing its own coinage three years before this series, making these early issues part of a genuinely compressed period of monetary institution-building.
