Obverse description The Kenyan coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a traditional Maasai shield and two crossed spears flanked by two rampant lions serving as supporters. The motto HARAMBEE (meaning 'All pull together') appears on a scroll at the base of the arms. The date is divided by the shield, with the left numeral to the left and right numeral to the right. The legend REPUBLIC OF KENYA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination TWENTY FIVE CENTS and the numeral 25 appear along the lower portion of the field.
