These pieces were never intended as functional currency — they circulated almost exclusively as collectibles sold at local events and tourist outlets, with face value redeemable in theory but rarely tested in practice.
Turner-Warwick was a regional printer based in North Battleford itself, which is uncommon for scrip of this type — most municipalities contracted outside commercial security printers.
