| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Barbados occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with a polished proof-like finish against a mirror field. The shield displays a bearded fig tree flanked by two pride-of-barbados flowers, supported to the left by a dolphin and to the right by a pelican, both rendered in fine detail. Above the shield appears a helmet surmounted by a hand grasping two crossed sugar cane stalks as the crest. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto PRIDE AND INDUSTRY. The legend BARBADOS arcs along the upper periphery, while TWENTY FIVE CENTS curves along the lower border, all in raised Latin lettering. |
