| Beschrijving keerzijde | A naturalistic depiction of the Doctor Bird, or Red-billed Streamertail hummingbird (Trochilus polytmus), Jamaica's national bird, is rendered in fine detail at centre-right, its long streamer tail feathers sweeping gracefully across the lower field as it hovers with outstretched wings toward a flowering plant. The plant's stems and broad leaves extend across the field, framing the composition. The large numeral '25' is prominently placed in the lower centre of the field. The curved legend 'TWENTY FIVE CENTS' follows the upper periphery, engraved in a narrow typeface consistent with the narrow-legend variety. |
