Obverse description Left-facing crowned effigy of King George V, modelled by Edgar Bertram MacKennal, depicted in robes with elaborately detailed regalia visible at the truncation. The Imperial State Crown surmounts the portrait, rendered with fine sculptural relief. The encircling Latin legend reads GEORGIVS V REX ET IND:IMP:, notably omitting the customary DEI GRATIA title, a distinguishing feature of this single-year type. A fine dentillated border frames the entire obverse field.
