| Beschrijving keerzijde | The denomination 25 CENTS is displayed prominently in the centre of the field, with the inscription CANADA above and the date below, all enclosed within two upward-curving maple boughs tied at the base. A St. Edward's Crown surmounts the composition at the top, flanked by the tips of the maple branches. The design is contained within a beaded inner border, with the reverse field left plain to frame the heraldic and typographic elements in a clean, authoritative arrangement. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Canada's quarter shrank — in silver content, not size — across exactly this window. The .925 fineness used here was reduced to .800 in 1920, a direct consequence of rising silver prices during and after the First World War. Coins dated 1919 were struck under the same fiscal pressure that would force the composition change the following year.
The 1916 issue has the lowest mintage of the run at just over 1.4 million pieces, making it notably scarcer than its neighbors in the series.
