| 正面描述 | The obverse bears the Seated Liberty design of the 1849-dated United States quarter dollar host coin, engraved by Christian Gobrecht. The allegorical figure of Liberty is depicted seated left upon a rocky outcropping, draped in classical robes, her right hand grasping a pole surmounted by a Liberty cap and her left arm resting upon a shield inscribed LIBERTY. Thirteen six-pointed stars border the central device in an arc around the upper field. The date 1849 appears in the lower exergue. Prominently counterstamped at center is the crowned cipher of Danish King Frederik VII (FR VII), applied circa 1850 to validate the coin for circulation in the Danish West Indies. |
