Reverse description The reverse displays the heraldic eagle design standard to the Seated Liberty quarter series. A spread-winged American bald eagle is depicted at center, its head turned to the right, breast covered by a vertically striped shield. The eagle clutches an olive branch in its right talon and a bundle of three arrows in its left talon. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA curves along the upper periphery, while the denomination QUAR. DOL. is inscribed in the lower segment, all contained within a beaded border. The entire reverse retains the original milled Philadelphia Mint striking with no counterstamp applied to this side.
