Beschrijving keerzijde Right-facing bust of Major-General Sir Isaac Brock occupying the right portion of the field, rendered in fine relief with period military dress visible at the truncation. To the left, a red coloured maple leaf bears the date '1812' in script, commemorating the bicentennial of the War of 1812. The background field is engraved with repeated bilingual text reading 'The War of 1812 / La guerre de 1812' in varied sizes, creating a layered typographic design. The denomination '25 cents' appears prominently in the upper left, with the name 'Brock' inscribed in cursive script below it. The privy mark 'BR' appears to the right of the bust near the rim.

Aanvullende informatie

Issued to mark the bicentennial of the War of 1812, this colored circulation-quality quarter was part of a broader Royal Canadian Mint campaign releasing multiple 25-cent pieces commemorating the conflict throughout 2012 and 2013. Brock died at the Battle of Queenston Heights in October 1812, less than four months into the war, shot during the British and Indigenous repulse of an American crossing of the Niagara River.

The color application was added at the mint before release — an unusual step for a coin intended for general circulation rather than collector packaging.
