| Opis rewersu | A vividly colored male Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) is depicted perched on a branch facing right, its brilliant red plumage rendered in full polychrome color printing against the coin's metallic field. The bird is surrounded by flowering white blossoms and green foliage, creating a naturalistic botanical setting. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 25 CENTS and date 2008 appear along the lower periphery, separated by the central design. The engraver's initials AN appear in the lower left field. This coin represents the fourth issue in the Royal Canadian Mint's Birds of Canada colored quarter series. |
