| 正面描述 | Plain blue-grey card stock printed in black letterpress throughout. A bold rectangular border frames the entire face, within which the issuing authority name appears at top in mixed-size type, followed by the denomination '25 céntimos' in large display lettering at the foot. The text 'VALE PROVISIONAL' serves as the central legend identifying this as a provisional wartime voucher. |

San Lorenzo de Calatrava is a small municipality in the Ciudad Real province of Castile-La Mancha, and like hundreds of similar towns across Republican Spain, its local council issued low-denomination paper during the Civil War to address the acute shortage of small coinage. Silver and copper had disappeared from circulation almost immediately after July 1936 — hoarded, melted, or simply withdrawn — leaving local commerce functionally paralyzed without some improvised substitute.
The Garrido Morin cataloguing reference places this among the lesser-documented municipal issues, and surviving examples are genuinely uncommon given the short operational window most ayuntamientos had before regional supply chains normalized or collapsed entirely.
