Pozo-Estrecho is a small village in the municipality of Cartagena, Murcia, and like hundreds of Spanish localities during 1936–39, its local commerce committee issued emergency fractional notes when Republican-zone coinage vanished almost entirely from circulation — hoarded, melted, or simply never minted in sufficient quantity to meet demand. These hyper-local emissions, catalogued collectively under the Guerra Civil municipal issues, were produced with whatever printing resources existed nearby, often a local press running job-lot stationery work.

Gari Mon remains the primary reference for this regional material. The 1167-A suffix suggests at least one variant exists within the type.
