| 正面描述 | Printed in dark green on a light yellow-green tinted paper, the note carries the issuer's name 'CONSEJO MUNICIPAL ALBATERA' across the upper field in bold letterpress, flanking a central diamond-shaped vignette enclosing the denomination '25 Cts' within an elaborate geometric border of concentric circles, scrollwork, and stylized Art Nouveau ornamental motifs. Three manuscript signatures appear in the lower register beneath the titles 'EL PRESIDENTE', 'EL INTERVENTOR', and 'EL DEPOSITARIO'. A rectangular guilloche-style frame encloses the entire design. |

Albatera was a small agricultural municipality in the province of Alicante, and like hundreds of similarly sized Spanish towns during the Civil War, its local council issued emergency fractional currency when Republican-zone coinage disappeared from circulation almost entirely by 1937. These municipal issues — produced locally, often on whatever card stock or paper was at hand — were strictly for use within the issuing town and had no standing elsewhere. The Consejo Municipal issues from this province are catalogued with some variation in paper and ink shade, suggesting more than one print run.
