Obverse description Central field displays the Haitian coat of arms featuring a palm tree flanked by two cannon on a trophy of arms, with a Phrygian cap at the summit. The design is rendered in low relief with a somewhat crude execution characteristic of early Haitian coinage. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE D'HAITI is inscribed along the upper periphery in Latin letters, with the denomination 25.C appearing in the lower field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
