Obverse description The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Honduras in high relief at center, featuring a triangular device enclosing mountains beneath a radiant sun, surrounded by an oval border bearing the legend REPUBLICA DE HONDURAS and the date 1871. Flanking the central shield are two standing figures — a female figure to the left and a helmeted figure to the right — each supporting a flagpole with pennants. Above the shield rises a Quetzal bird atop an ornate crowned crest, while below, a decorative ribbon and a Maltese cross pendant complete the armorial composition. The entire device is set within a broad, flat field, encircled by a finely milled border.

Reverse description The reverse features a large, densely foliated oak tree in high relief at center, its broad canopy filling the upper field, flanked symmetrically by laurel branches curving upward from a common root at the base. The denomination 25 C. is inscribed to the left and right of the tree trunk within the wreath. Surrounding the central device, a ring of small six-pointed stars separates it from the outer circular legend, which reads DIOS UNION LIBERTAD. at the top and 15 DE SET. 1821 0.900 at the bottom, referencing Honduran independence on 15 September 1821 and the intended silver fineness of 0.900. The rim is defined by a bold milled border in keeping with the pattern's high-quality execution.
