| Obverse description | Crudely hand-stamped Mexican republican eagle displayed in the central field, depicted facing left with wings spread and a serpent in its beak, perched atop a cactus plant. Flanking the base of the cactus are laurel and oak branches, rendered in a rough, primitive engraving style characteristic of provisional revolutionary-era coinage. The surrounding field shows the characteristic dimpled, uneven surface typical of hand-fabricated planchets. The legend ESTADO DE MEXICO AMECAMECA encircles the design. The overall execution reflects the urgent wartime conditions under which this emergency issue was produced. |
