Beschrijving voorzijde	The national arms of the Republic of Korea — a stylised taeguk symbol within a circular floral rosette — is displayed prominently in the upper centre, encircled by a wreath of hibiscus blossoms and foliage. Below the arms, a horizontal band carries the Hangul inscription for 'Republic of Korea' (대한민국). The denomination '25,000 원 / WON' is inscribed in the lower field in both Korean numerals and Latin characters. At the base, the issuer's name in Hangul (한국은행, 'Bank of Korea') appears in two lines. The date, expressed in both the Dangun era year (4303) and the Gregorian year (1970), is inscribed in the upper field above the arms.

Beschrijving keerzijde	A full-length portrait of King Sejong the Great (r. 1418–1450) is depicted seated in three-quarter view upon a throne, attired in traditional royal court robes and a gat headpiece, holding an open book in both hands. Vertical columns of Hangul characters flank the enthroned figure on both sides, representing aspects of his legacy including the creation of the Hangul alphabet. The legend 'REPUBLIC OF KOREA' arcs along the upper periphery in Latin capitals, while 'KING SEJONG THE GREAT' is inscribed along the lower periphery. The regnal dates '1397 - 1450' appear in the exergual area beneath the throne.
