The "Triptych of Freedom" belongs to a wave of high-denomination, large-format silver issues produced for Cameroon by European minting houses — primarily for the collector market, not domestic circulation. Cameroon's CFA franc is pegged to the euro through the Bank of Central African States, meaning Cameroon has no independent monetary policy and effectively outsources it to France. That arrangement makes a 25,000-franc face value purely nominal; the silver content alone far exceeds it.
