| Obverse description | Draped and veiled head of Demeter facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic style with detailed veil folds cascading over the hair and nape. The facial features are finely modelled with a straight nose and slightly parted lips. The veil is drawn tightly over the crown and falls in deep, naturalistic striations across the neck. No legend or inscription appears in the field. The flan is irregular, consistent with hand-struck bronze coinage of Bruttian civic mints. |

| Reverse description | Zeus standing facing, head turned to the right, posed in a dynamic striding or attacking attitude with weight resting on the right leg. He holds a long sceptre in his left hand and raises his right arm to wield a thunderbolt. A six-pointed star appears in the left field. The ethnic legend ΠETH-ΛINΩN is inscribed in the field, identifying the issuing city of Petelia. The composition reflects standard South Italian Greek iconographic conventions for civic bronze coinage of the late third century BC. |
