| Obverse description | Central device depicts a large elephant facing forward, flanked on either side by a smaller elephant head in profile, all three animals rendered in high relief. The composition is framed by two graceful floral and foliate branches curving upward from the base to frame the elephant group. The Thai legend SAYAM ANACHAK (Nation of Siam) arcs along the upper periphery in Thai script, while the regnal year SK 116 (Rattanakosin Era year 116, corresponding to 1897) appears in Thai numerals along the lower periphery. |
