| Obverse description | The obverse serves as the value side of this emergency coinage, displaying the denomination '2 1/2' in large numerals at center, flanked by small sprigs, above the word 'PESETAS' in bold raised lettering. The central design is framed by an inner beaded border, with the circular legend '·EN·BARCELONA·' arcing across the upper field and the date '·1808·' positioned at the base, flanked by small rosette stops. A tied laurel wreath occupies the lower portion of the inner field, its branches rising on either side of the denomination.
