Reverse description The reverse presents a finely modeled bust of Kazimierz I Odnowiciel (Casimir I the Restorer), Duke of Poland from 1039 to 1058, depicted in three-quarter view facing slightly left. He is shown wearing a crown and a richly detailed royal mantle with decorative circular ornamentation, rendered in a bold sculptural relief. The legend KAZIMIERZ I ODNOWICIEL 1039-1058 arcs along the upper periphery in Latin script. The word PRÓBA, denoting trial or pattern status, appears vertically to the right of the effigy in the field. The overall design is the work of engraver Ewa Olszewska-Borys and exemplifies the commemorative medallic style of Polish gold coinage of the era.
