Obverse description Executed in shades of gray and blue, the obverse is dominated by a vignette portrait of clergyman and naturalist Dámaso Antonio Larrañaga at center, above which guilloche underprint patterns frame the composition. Serial numbers appear in two orientations — horizontal in red at lower left and vertical in black at upper right — flanking the face value expressed both in numerals and in words. Security elements include a metallic-like band at right carrying a latent image of the coat of arms and BCU lettering, a central allegory vignette designed to align with its counterpart on the reverse, and a segmented security thread; an embossed pair of concentric triangles at upper left serves as a tactile feature for the visually impaired.
