| Descrizione del dritto | Central field depicts the traditional Bhutanese royal emblem: a double vajra (dorje) rendered in fine relief at centre, surmounted by a jewel finial and issuing from a lotus flower at the base. Two confronted dragons in the Druk (Thunder Dragon) style flank the vajra symmetrically, their sinuous bodies rendered with great detail against the polished field. A border of small asterisk ornaments frames the inner design, while a Dzongkha legend in Uchen script appears along the upper rim and the inscription KINGDOM OF BHUTAN arcs along the lower rim in Latin characters. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The gold inner centre depicts the Great Sphinx of Giza in frontal view occupying the upper portion, with the three Pyramids of Giza rendered in perspective below it; a frieze of small figures engaged in construction labour occupies the lower register of the centre. The date 2002 and the denomination 2000 NGULTRUM are inscribed in two lines at the base of the gold centre. The surrounding silver outer ring is decorated with a continuous band of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic-style pictograms and figures in relief, encircling the entire reverse. |
