Obverse description Central field depicts the traditional Bhutanese royal emblem: a double vajra (dorje) rendered in fine relief at centre, surmounted by a jewel finial and issuing from a lotus flower at the base. Two confronted dragons in the Druk (Thunder Dragon) style flank the vajra symmetrically, their sinuous bodies rendered with great detail against the polished field. A border of small asterisk ornaments frames the inner design, while a Dzongkha legend in Uchen script appears along the upper rim and the inscription KINGDOM OF BHUTAN arcs along the lower rim in Latin characters.
