Descrizione del dritto	Intaglio portrait of President Kaysone Phomvihane at left-centre against a multicolour guilloche underprint, with a vignette of Pha That Luang stupa at centre-right and the national coat of arms at upper right. Denomination numerals appear at upper left and lower right within the blue-toned border, and the serial number is printed twice in contrasting colours. Lao script inscription runs along the upper register.

Descrizione del rovescio	Central vignette of the Xeset (Selabam) hydroelectric dam and power station, rendered in brown intaglio against a light blue and multicolour guilloche ground. A decorative lotus rosette underprint and traditional Lao scroll ornaments occupy the left margin, with denomination numerals at lower left and lower right. Lao script inscription appears in the upper border band and along the lower margin.

Commenti	The Banque de la République Démocratique Populaire Lao issued this series during a period of relative monetary stabilization following the hyperinflationary pressures of the early 1990s, when the kip had lost the bulk of its purchasing power. The 2000 Kip denomination was introduced partly to reduce the volume of lower-denomination notes required for everyday transactions. P#33 carries only a watermark as its primary security feature — modest by late-1990s standards, when most regional central banks were already incorporating security threads and color-shifting inks.
