| Anmerkungen |
The Banque de la République Démocratique Populaire Lao issued this series during a period of relative monetary stabilization following the hyperinflationary pressures of the early 1990s, when the kip had lost the bulk of its purchasing power. The 2000 Kip denomination was introduced partly to reduce the volume of lower-denomination notes required for everyday transactions.
P#33 carries only a watermark as its primary security feature — modest by late-1990s standards, when most regional central banks were already incorporating security threads and color-shifting inks.
