Beschrijving voorzijde The national coat of arms of Cameroon occupies the central field, depicting a shield bearing scales of justice surmounted by a five-pointed star, flanked by crossed fasces and supported by two crossed axes, with a banner below inscribed REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON / REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN. The silver fineness mark Ag 999 appears to the lower left of the arms. The bilingual national motto arcs across the upper field in two registers: PAIX / PEACE to the left and TRAVAIL / WORK at top center and PATRIE / FATHERLAND to the right. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs along the upper rim, while the denomination 2000 FRANCS CFA is boldly rendered along the lower rim, with the date 2017 inscribed in the field above the coat of arms.

Beschrijving keerzijde A highly detailed sculptural representation of the celebrated Renaissance goldsmith masterpiece, the Saliera (saltcellar), created by Benvenuto Cellini circa 1543, rendered in high relief at center. Two reclining gilt figures — the female personification of the Earth (Terra) and the male personification of the Sea (Neptune/Poseidon) — face one another in intertwined pose, their bodies selectively gilt in gold against the antique-finished silver field. A sea creature (fish) and architectural elements referencing Cellini's original base appear in the lower register. The surrounding border features ornamental grotesque decoration with additional relief figures in the field. The artist's name BENVENUTO CELLINI appears in italic script within a curved cartouche above the central figural group.
