| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Cameroon occupies the central field, depicting a shield bearing scales of justice and a sword, surmounted by a five-pointed star, and flanked by two crossed fasces. A ribbon scroll below the shield bears the bilingual legends REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON and REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN. The date 2020 appears above the arms, flanked by the bilingual motto PAIX / PEACE to the left and TRAVAIL / WORK above and PATRIE / FATHERLAND to the right. The circular outer legend reads REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN along the upper arc, with the denomination 2000 FRANCS CFA along the lower arc. The fineness mark AG 999 appears in the lower left field. |

| Reverse description | A highly detailed, front-facing depiction of Mahakala, the wrathful Hindu and Buddhist protective deity, rendered in high relief against an ornate background. The deity is shown in a fearsome aspect, holding a skull cup (kapala) and a flaming rod or club, with multiple arms extending outward in a dynamic composition. Two fantastic mythological creatures, likely makara or leonine beings, are positioned symmetrically in the upper left and upper right fields, flanking the deity. The overall design is executed in an antique finish with selective gilding accentuating key iconographic elements. The legend MAHAKALA appears prominently within the design. |
