| Obverse description | Central design features a classical Greek temple (reminiscent of the Parthenon) set against a dramatic sunburst, surrounded by billowing clouds and a mountainous landscape, all framed within a large wreath of olive branches rendered in high relief. The legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 2025 positioned at the top center. | Reverse description | High-relief depiction of Hera, queen of the Olympian gods, seated in a three-quarter frontal pose and draped in classical robes with an ornate belt. She holds a gilded royal scepter topped with an elaborate wheel-and-floral finial, rendered in selective gold gilding, in her left hand, while cradling a pomegranate — her sacred fruit — in her right. Two peacocks, her emblematic birds, flank her: one perched on a column to her left with tail fully displayed, and one resting against her right side. Behind her, classical Ionic architectural elements and ornate scrollwork decorate the field. The name HERA appears in bold capital letters along the lower exergue, and a beaded border encircles the entire reverse design. |
