| Reverse description | A richly detailed commemorative composition celebrates the First French Empire (1804–1815) across a densely populated field enclosed by an ornate scrollwork border. To the right, Napoleon Bonaparte is depicted on rearing horseback, caped and wearing his iconic bicorne hat, in a manner evoking Jacques-Louis David's celebrated portrait. The Arc de Triomphe rises prominently in the centre background, flanked by scenes of Napoleonic military campaigns including infantry formations and Egyptian pyramids at left. At the upper centre, the Imperial coat of arms of France — featuring a crowned eagle with orb and sceptre, rendered in full polychrome colour — is displayed alongside a coloured tricolour flag of France and a coloured map of Europe highlighting the Empire's territorial extent in red.
