Reverse description The reverse is dominated by a circular cartographic vignette on the left half, presenting an aerial map of the Îles Éparses group — including Île Europa, Île Bassas da India, Île Juan de Nova, Île Tromelin, and Îles Glorieuses — set within a fine guilloche border. A tropical fish and stylised seaweed stem occupy the centre, while the right half carries a repeated cascade of the numeral "2000" in graduating sizes, the coat of arms of Île Europa with a sea turtle at centre, and the legal disclaimer text. The lower margin bears the authority inscription "TERRES AUSTRALES FRANÇAISES" and the copyright notice "© BATF".

Comments

Europa Island is an uninhabited French territory in the Mozambique Channel, administered from Réunion as part of the Scattered Islands. It has no resident population, no economy, and no monetary system. Notes issued in its name are fantasy pieces — produced for the collector market with no authorization from any central bank or monetary authority, and no legal tender status anywhere.

The polymer substrate and the denomination in francs are purely decorative choices. France abolished the franc in 2002.
