To the right of the portrait, a vignette of two doves in flight flanks the central national coat of arms, with the motto 'TRAVAIL JUSTICE SOLIDARITÉ' on the shield. The upper right bears a colour-shifting optically variable diamond device with the letters 'RG', and the date 'le 1er MARS 1960' appears in the upper centre.
