| 备注 |
The 2000 Escudo denomination was the highest-value note in circulation when this series was issued, reflecting the escudo's purchasing power in an economy heavily dependent on diaspora remittances — Cape Verde's emigrant community, concentrated in the United States and Portugal, made high-denomination notes practically useful in ways unusual for a country of its population size.
Thomas De La Rue produced the series as Cape Verde was quietly preparing for what would become a peg arrangement linking the escudo to the Portuguese escudo and, after 1999, to the euro — the same year this note was printed.
