The word ANTARCTICA runs vertically along the left border in large brown letters, while the denomination numeral 2000 appears in an ornate chain-style typeface at upper right, with DOLLARS beneath it. A hexagonal cartouche at centre left bears the locomotive class designation and year, and a guilloche underprint of concentric circular patterns fills the background; a Governor's manuscript signature appears at lower right. |

The reverse is dominated by a large photographic vignette of Grand Central Station in New York, rendered in warm golden tones against a deep blue sky, with the Beaux-Arts façade and its arched windows clearly visible. The denomination 2000 DOLLARS appears in ornate chain numerals at upper left, with ALEXANDER I ISLAND and TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS in gold lettering to the left, and ANTARCTICA printed vertically along the right border. A large rosette guilloche pattern occupies the right-centre field, and a brown banner at the base of the architectural vignette carries the inscription GRAND CENTRAL STATION. |
