Obverse description The obverse is printed on a gold-toned ground with a multicolour central vignette of a red electric locomotive (type BB 9291, 1964) rendered in full colour, occupying the centre of the note. The word ANTARCTICA runs vertically along the left border in large brown letters, while the denomination numeral 2000 appears in an ornate chain-style typeface at upper right, with DOLLARS beneath it. A hexagonal cartouche at centre left bears the locomotive class designation and year, and a guilloche underprint of concentric circular patterns fills the background; a Governor's manuscript signature appears at lower right.

Reverse description The reverse is dominated by a large photographic vignette of Grand Central Station in New York, rendered in warm golden tones against a deep blue sky, with the Beaux-Arts façade and its arched windows clearly visible. The denomination 2000 DOLLARS appears in ornate chain numerals at upper left, with ALEXANDER I ISLAND and TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS in gold lettering to the left, and ANTARCTICA printed vertically along the right border. A large rosette guilloche pattern occupies the right-centre field, and a brown banner at the base of the architectural vignette carries the inscription GRAND CENTRAL STATION.
