正面描述 The obverse features the Polish state eagle of the People's Republic of Poland — a stylised white eagle displayed with spread wings, facing right, rendered without a crown in the communist heraldic tradition — centrally positioned in the field. The date '19 80' is divided to either side of the eagle's lower body. The circular legend 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA' arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination '200' in large numerals appears in the lower field, flanked by the currency abbreviations 'ZŁ' on each side. The mint mark 'MW' (Mennica Warszawska) appears beneath the eagle.

附加信息

The XIII Winter Olympics were held in Lake Placid, New York in February 1980 — the Games most remembered for the U.S. hockey team's "Miracle on Ice" upset over the Soviet Union. Poland issued a collector series around the event, and trial strikes like this piece document the design approval process at the Mennica Polska. The torch variant referenced in ParM#P428b suggests at least two distinct trial dies were prepared, with the torchless version presumably rejected or produced for internal approval review rather than public release.
