Obverse description The Polish state eagle — the crowned white eagle of the People's Republic of Poland — is depicted in high relief at the centre of the field, facing right with wings spread, rendered in a stylised socialist heraldic manner without a crown. The date of issue, 1980, is split to either side of the eagle's talons, with '19' to the left and '80' to the right. The denomination '200' appears prominently in large numerals at the bottom of the field, flanked on each side by the currency abbreviation 'ZŁ'. The circular legend 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA' runs along the upper periphery in Latin script.
