The date '•2020•' is inscribed above the book within the inner circle. Traditional Kazakh ornamental motifs appear below the book. The legend 'QAZAQSTAN KONSTITÝSIASYNA' arcs along the upper periphery, and '• 25 JYL •' is inscribed along the lower border, flanked by small decorative diamond motifs, all in raised Latin characters against a darkened field. |

Kazakhstan's constitution, adopted by referendum on 30 August 1995, was a document engineered to concentrate executive authority in Nursultan Nazarbayev following the dissolution of the first post-Soviet parliament — which he had dissolved by decree the previous year. The 25th anniversary fell during a transitional moment: Nazarbayev had formally resigned the presidency in 2019, though he retained significant institutional power as head of the Security Council, a situation that made commemorating the constitution's quarter-century simultaneously official and quietly awkward.
