Obverse description Black on red and celeste underprint, with an allegorical female vignette accompanied by sheep at left and a portrait of President Bernardino Rivadavia at right, flanking the Argentine Coat of Arms at center. The design is executed in fine intaglio engraving typical of South American Bank Note Company output from this period. Two signature varieties are known for this issue.
