Obverse description Portrait of French architect Jean Louis Charles Garnier on the left, based on an oil on canvas painted in 1868 by his friend Paul Baudry (1828-1886). In the center, the façade of the famous Paris Opera named after this architect, which was inaugurated on January 5, 1875 by the President of the Republic, Patrice de Mac Mahon. On the right, dancers at the Opéra Garnier, in a stylized rose décor.
